Are You Brushing Your Teeth Correctly?

Are You Brushing Your Teeth Correctly?

Good brushing technique gives you a sparkling smile instead of a mouthful of cavities and bad gums. Below are helpful tips on how to correctly brush your pearly whites, as endorsed by the ADA.

  • Use a soft-bristled brush.
  • Select a brush size and shape that fits your mouth comfortably.
  • Use an ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste.
  • Gently brush back and forth with short, one-tooth wide strokes.
  • Brush all tooth surfaces.
  • For inside surfaces, hold the brush vertically and move up and down.

Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months, or sooner if bristles are frayed.

And … don’t forget to floss!
