Bridges
Bridges are natural-looking dental appliances that can replace a section of missing teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth.
Bridges come in two types: fixed and removable. The fixed bridge is bonded to existing teeth or implants. The removable bridge is sometimes used to replace several missing teeth that span across the arch. The removable bridge can also be taken out and cleaned by the patient.
Porcelain, gold alloys or combinations of materials are usually used to make bridge appliances. Removable appliances are made of a combination of metals and acrylic and have porcelain or plastic teeth.
