Posts for tag: Stress Free Visit

At Grove Dental, our goal is to deliver quality dentistry while making your visits as comfortable and stress-free as possible.  We do this by providing gentle care, comfort-enhancing amenities, and a truly pampered experience every time you visit.

For patients with certain medical conditions or for more extensive treatment, we now offer dental treatment performed in the office under general anesthesia.  One major benefit to this technique is that extensive dental work can be performed in one session in a very controlled environment.  This allows the dentist to administer the treatment in the office that otherwise may have to be facilitated in a hospital setting.

The general anesthesia is administered, and the patient’s condition is carefully monitored, by the licensed anesthesiologist.  This team approach allows the dentist to be fully focused on performing the dental treatment while the patient is completely comfortable.

If you have severe dental anxiety, suffer from certain medical conditions, have uncontrollable gag reflexes, or have difficulty getting numb from standard numbing techniques, you may be a candidate for dentistry performed under an in-office general anesthesia.  This newer method of dentistry is exciting for patients who need extensive treatment and want to avoid the inconvenience and major expense of a hospital visit.

Think about it; now you can have extractions, root canals, gum treatment, dental implants or other needed procedures done while you sleep!  Your comfort is a top priority, and general anesthesia is just another way we are able to provide gentle, comfortable care.  Talk to your Grove doctor to find out if general anesthesia is a good option for you.

Relax at Grove DentalMillions of Americans have some level of anxiety when it comes to visiting the dentist.  Some people experience such intense fear that they avoid getting needed dental care. While skipping your regular dental check-up may seem like a good solution to your fears at the time, putting off a dental exam and cleaning can actually lead to serious health problems down the road and the need for more extensive dental treatment.  A confident patient is a relaxed, comfortable patient, so go ahead and take care of your smile …with confidence.

At Grove Dental, you can expect to feel safe, comfortable and confident the minute you walk through the door. Our caring staff and skilled doctors stay abreast of the latest techniques and procedures and provide each patient with the individual attention and pampering they deserve.  We will listen to your concerns and work with you to create a comprehensive dental plan that is consistent with your goals and objectives.

We also offer many amenities in our four offices to help you maintain a relaxed and stress-free state. From comfortable pillows and blankets to music players and video games, we do everything in our power to cater to your needs and put you at ease while we take care of your smile.

At Grove Dental, your comfort is our priority. Rest assured that when you visit Grove, you and your family can relax with confidence. Our caring staff, experienced, up-to-date, gentle doctors and comfortable state-of-the-art offices will put you at ease.

The wisdom teeth, also known as the third molars, are usually the last teeth to erupt in the mouth. This usually occurs between the ages of 17 and 25 -- the "age of wisdom." Some will never develop wisdom teeth, while others may develop up to four, one at each end of the upper and lower gums.

Because most mouths are too small to accommodate four additional molars, wisdom teeth removal is often necessary to prevent other dental problems, such as impaction. Impacted wisdom teeth, those that are prevented from erupting, can cause infection, gum disease and formation of a cyst. Partially or fully erupted wisdom teeth may also need removed as they are often nonfunctional, susceptible to tooth decay and interfere with the alignment of adjacent, healthy teeth.

Prime time for wisdom teeth removal is during the summer when high school and college kids are home from school and their schedules are lighter. For young adults, removal of the wisdom teeth is typically easier because the tooth roots are not fully developed and the bone is less dense. This also allows for shorter recovery time.

Common symptoms of emerging wisdom teeth include pain or swelling, but in some cases, symptoms may not be present at all. For this reason, an adolescent's wisdom teeth need to be examined by a trained oral surgeon. Regular dental visits are an important part of monitoring the development of the third molars and helping dentists make an appropriately timed recommendation for their removal, should it be necessary.

At Grove Dental, we perform many extractions during the school breaks, and are accepting appointments for the summer time now. We have Board Certified Oral Surgeons on-staff specially trained to take care of wisdom teeth and all oral surgery needs for patients of any age. Allow Grove to guide you on the best treatment options and if necessary, schedule your teen's wisdom teeth removal for the summer.
