Tooth loss doesn’t have to be permanent. Find out how dental implants can restore your smile.

Tooth loss can leave you with more than a gapped smile and low self-confidence. It can have a negative impact on your ability to chew your favorite foods and even disturb your normal speech.

Replacing missing teeth serves a much greater purpose than providing you with an aesthetically pleasing smile, however. The effects of missing teeth can be detrimental to your long-term oral and general health.  Deteriorating jaw bone, shrinking gum tissue and shifting of surrounding teeth are all long-term ramifications that occur from failure to replace missing teeth.

Utilizing the latest in dental technology, now you can replace missing teeth with dental implants, a treatment option that allows you to regain your teeth’s natural function and appearance.

A dental implant is the closest replacement to a natural tooth.  Small, titanium structures are placed into the jaw to secure the crown(s) or denture.  You then gain confidence to eat what you like, speak clearly, and you no longer have to be self- conscious about your missing teeth or lose dentures!

Implants are also safe and effective, boasting more than a 90% success rate. According to the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, implants are crafted of bio-compatible materials which have undergone extensive testing over a period of several years.

At Grove Dental, we have treated many patients with dental implants who are amazed at the gentleness of the procedure and the outstanding results.  After suffering with loose-fitting dentures or missing teeth, many patients regret not getting dental implants sooner.

Whether your teeth are missing as a result of tooth decay, gum disease, an accident or trauma, you want a restoration option that rivals natural teeth, that is comfortable and durable. While there are a number of restoration options available, none have proven to be as natural-looking and functionally effective as implants.

Don’t suffer the health consequences of missing teeth, visit Grove Dental for an exam and find out if dental implants are right for you.  Grove Dental's experienced team of general dentists and specialists can provide a comprehensive treatment plan to ensure your best possible esthetic and functional results.  Your teeth are vital to your overall wellbeing, so let us help you restore the proper function and confident smile you deserve.

It’s easy to let your oral hygiene slide, especially during summer months when schedules naturally become busier.  Allow your regular dental care to slip and you’ll be sorry; it could lead to serious consequences for your teeth and gums, as well as the need for more extensive, costly dental work down the road.

Since many dental problems are painless at first, if you don't regularly visit your dentist, you may not be aware of dental problems until they cause serious damage—and pain! For best results, schedule regular dental check-ups every six months.  Your dentist can identify any needed treatment at a very early, minor stage.

A decaying tooth may not hurt, so you could have a cavity and not even know it! Without proper diagnosis and treatment, the cavity will grow.  Small decay that may only need a small filling, if left untreated, may eventually require a large filling, root canal or even crown.

Preventive dentistry is good for health and your pocketbook!  Cleanings, exams, x-rays, mouthguards and sealants are some of the preventive services offered at Grove Dental that help you keep your natural teeth for a lifetime.  A combination of good oral hygiene at home and regular visits to one of our offices will help you prevent many dental problems, and save time and money.

This summer, do yourself a favor – don’t put off dental visits and treatment.  It’s good for your health and wealth!

Over the holiday weekend, many Grove Dental doctors and staff members participated in this year’s 4th of July parade in Wheaton.   Dr. Bob Stone, Pediatric Dentist, was joined by his grandchildren. It was a fun day for all!

The summer months are a convenient time to schedule those routine healthcare appointments for your kids.  Physical exams, such as vision and hearing tests, help ensure kids are in good health before the start of the school year. Don’t overlook a visit to the dentist.  It’s not just important, it’s required by law!  The state of Illinois requires that all students in kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th grade have a dental exam completed by a licensed dentist before the start of the school year.

Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in U.S. children, with more than 40 percent of kids having some form of tooth decay by the time they start kindergarten.  Many cases of tooth decay can easily be prevented or detected early, with regular visits to the dentist.

Regular dental check-ups include cleanings, fluoride treatment and X-rays when necessary.  Your child’s dentist may also recommend dental sealants—a thin, clear coating that is applied to chewing surfaces of cavity-prone back teeth—shielding teeth from plaque.

Grove Dental has experienced pediatric dentists on staff at all four office locations, dedicated exclusively to treating kids. Call now to schedule your appointment and have the required exam completed before school starts.
